Ayiti,
Beauty at its core
In constant collision with destruction
My people living in political corruptions
And volcanic eruptions
Tsunami of emotions
Moving plates under the earth
Empty plates on impoverished tables
My people are hungry for change
Sick of swallowing pain
Surviving in trauma
Magnificent island
Precious lives
Caught up in a deadly landslide
Ground rupture
Got caught in a rapture
Their forever starts today
Those without Christ’s stamp
On their passports
Won’t make it to the pearly gates Heaven is the only sustainable hope
For our hurting people
Our resilience will find a way
to push through the fiery clay
Lord, please make a way
we’re not okay Living fractured lives
In political corruptions
Tsunami of emotions Our Richter scales are broken
We need transformative vibrations
In Haiti, your beautiful island.
